Full Grants: What You Need to Know

Looking for the essentials on full grants? Here you go...

The Basics

If your organization needs more than $2,500, you’re in the right place—full grants are designed for requests above that mark. There’s no rush or seasonality here: you can apply any time of year, and the grant committee reviews applications as they come in (NEED TO UPDATE THIS). Often, bigger grants require more than just a funding application (which is further down the page) —they may also involve collaborating, for example, co-hosting fundraisers to partnering on annual events.

Just a reminder: Our giving is limited to work that takes place in or creates value with our service area, which includes Bethany Beach, Clarksville, Dagsboro, Fenwick, Frankford, Millville, Ocean View, Roxana, Selbyville, and South Bethany.

Dates that Drive Timing

Twice a year, QRCF throws its biggest fundraising events: Hair of the Dog 5K/10K each January 1, and the Bunny Palooza every Easter weekend. These aren’t just lively gatherings—they’re the main engines powering our mission, endowment, and grant programs. With each event, we may select additional nonprofits or community groups from Southeastern Sussex County as beneficiaries. If your organization is interested in becoming a partner, you’re invited to apply for a share of the proceeds.

Why the Dates Are So Important

Our marquee events happen within a concentrated three-month window, so timing matters. To be in the running for partnership in the next round of events, make sure your application is submitted before July 1. Each application undergoes a two-step review: first, we consider the fit for event partnership; then, the grant committee takes a closer look. Once the dust settles after each event, the Foundation determines funding amounts for the chosen beneficiaries.
