2010 Scholarship Application
QRCF & Capt. William O. Murray Scholarships

The Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation believes that helping local students realize their college dreams benefits our entire community. In 2009, the foundation is awarding scholarships to local graduating seniors who reside in the towns of Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Clarksville, Selbyville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Millsboro and their surrounding rural areas. This area encompasses the zip codes of 19944, 19930, 19970, 19967, 19975, 19945, 19939 and 19966. Two $8,000 scholarships will be awarded in 2009. In addition to one regular QRCF scholarship, the foundation will also award the Capt. William O. Murray Scholarship to a student who exhibits a strong commitment to civic and community service. Each recipient will be awarded $2,000 per year for four years. Both scholarships are based primarily on financial need but will be made available to other students if no qualified candidates apply.

For the applicant essay, please write information about yourself that includes your involvement in school activities and the community, your career goals, your financial needs, your work-related experiences, and why you believe you should be the recipient of a Quiet Resorts Charitable Foundation Scholarship. Civic and community service will be given special consideration in the awarding of the Capt. William O. Murray Scholarship.

In addition, the materials below must be mailed to QRCF:

• Copy of your high school transcript including GPA and class ranking.
• Copy of your SAT scores.

RULES

• Eligible candidates must be high school seniors who reside in the towns of Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Millville, Clarksville, Selbyville, Frankford, Dagsboro, Millsboro and their surrounding rural areas. This area encompasses the zip codes of 19944, 19930, 19970, 19967, 19975, 19945, 19939 and 19966.
• Each tuition scholarship is effective for a four-year period. Chosen candidates will receive two $1,000 checks per year from the Foundation (for fall and spring semesters). The checks will be made payable to the college or university. The scholarship shall become null and void if the student withdraws from college or chooses not to enroll for the fall semester.
